I’ve been titled son, brother, friend, boyfriend, fiance, husband, father, ex-husband, grandpa, P-A-P-A, Papa David, cousin, uncle, various ministerial titles, fence builder, volunteer liaison, leadership consultant, activities director, instructor, and lecturer.

Yes, “dad” and the grandparent ones are the best ones yet!

Life Leads to Chapter Title Remembrance

It was a jokingly challenging conference for me and Ole Miss as the Christian Society for Kinesiology, Leisure, and Sports Studies met at Baylor University last week.

First, Baylor basketball coach Scott Drew spoke at our Thursday evening banquet. His brother, Bryce, hit a last-second shot to defeat Ole Miss in a March Madness game years ago.

Second, Baylor President, Dr. Linda Livingstone, who, like Dale Connally and me, worked at least one summer at Camp Soaring Hawk in southwest Missouri, commented on last year’s Sugar Bowl Baylor victory over Ole Miss.… Read more

Anniversary of First Book’s Release

Seven years ago, on this day, the book “Characters of the Bible” was released to the public.
The author designed the cover to communicate the book was a humorous look at a serious topic.
The author was wrong. Many people saw the cartoon characters and assumed it was a children’s book.
In honor of the seventh anniversary of its launch, a new cover is being designed by a very gifted graphic artist
to communicate the aspect of similarities we share with Bible characters.
