Facebook Memories

Facebook memories popped up yesterday, which reminded me of how I got started as an author. Friends like this commented on my Top Ten Reasons posts encouraging me to write a book.

Well, I’ve written four. Thanks to this friend, and others, I have had a blast using puns, humor, and life experiences to create a “taking the Bible personally” theme in my writing.

Excellent Preaching

I worshiped online with the Zootown Church of Missoula, Montana, yesterday. I heard a phenomenal preacher.

Of course, I am biased. In all my years of hearing the story of Lazarus, I never caught this point until yesterday from James,
“We are never so dead that God can’t restore us.”

Yesterday reminded me of the following, “Seeing what my sons can do and what they had become as young men, I realized it was time to let them take the forefront and for me to take a backseat.”

Keep Playing!

I reorganized my author work area. Yes, that’s a baseball pinball game.
Mary Poppins said, “In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. You find the fun, and snap! The job’s a game!”
“We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow. old because we stop playing.” -George Bernard Shaw
Keep your inner-child alive in your heart.

Taking the Bible Personally

I find it admirable when higher level staff take on work that is usually assigned to lower levels of management or operations. An example is when a restaurant manager cleans tables or fills in for a server. I encourage my students to never think so highly of themselves that they won’t pick up trash or unclog a toilet.
Today, while visiting Grace Bible Church, I see the Senior Pastor, JD Shaw, serving as an usher at the beginning of the service.
I asked him if he was moonlighting as an usher.

Lessen Plan

It was always my wish that my children would bypass me in accomplishments.
All three did it by the time they were twelve and continue to push the distance even farther.
